Holsworth to talk Election 2020 and Beyond: What Happened and What's Next

Join the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs for a Lunch and Learn Zoom presentation featuring Bob Holsworth, Ph.D., a political scientist and founding director of the Center for Public Policy and the Wilder School, who will share his analysis of the 2020 election and discusses implications at the federal and state level, including a preview of the 2021 elections in Virginia.
Wilder School Dean Susan Gooden, Ph.D., will make opening remarks. Bill Leighty (M.B.A.’79/B), senior strategic adviser, will moderate the session. There will be Q&A portion for participants during the session.

About the Speaker
Bob Holsworth, Ph.D. is the Founding Director of the Center for Public Policy and the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University. He also served as Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences – the largest unit at the university. Dr. Holsworth is currently a Managing Partner at DecideSmart and has occupied key positions in a number of major governmental initiatives. He was the Executive Director of the Governor’s Commission on Efficiency and Effectiveness. He has been the Director of the Virginia Executive Institute and Co-Staff Director of the Commission on the Future of Virginia’s Urban Areas, a gubernatorial commission that examined how Virginia’s urban areas could become flourishing parts of regional economies. Dr. Holsworth serves on the Board of Visitors of Virginia Commonwealth University. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Seton Hall University and his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
