Wilder School’s M.P.A. Diversity Plan Cited
The diversity plan of the Wilder School’s Master of Public Administration program has been selected as a best practice by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration, which will display the plan on its website.
NASPAA is the recognized global accreditor of master’s degree programs in the fields of public policy, public affairs, public administration and public and nonprofit management. The Wilder School’s M.P.A. program was recently reaccredited by NASPAA, which has 300 member programs in the U.S. and 14 countries. NASPAA seeks to ensure excellence in education and training for public service and to promote the ideal of public service.
“The Wilder School is committed to achieving diversity and inclusion in our workplaces, classrooms and throughout our society,” said Dean John Accordino, Ph.D. “Our M.P.A. faculty have led the way in this effort, and we are very proud of, and grateful for, their efforts.”
The Wilder School was found to have a model diversity plan during the recent reaccreditation, according to NASPAA.
Richard Huff, Ph.D., chair of the M.P.A. program, called the recognition an honor.
"I admire the commitment to diversity and inclusion of our M.P.A. faculty and students, who developed this plan in 2015 to help us keep a focus on this important area in our curriculum and program," Huff said. "The plan also played an important role in our recent reaccreditation. It is quite a compliment to be recognized for our work without a nominating process and is a tribute to the quality of our faculty and students."
