Kapria Lee is a policy analyst at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago. She is dedicated to helping state governments transform systems, with an emphasis on improving outcomes for vulnerable populations. She joined Chapin Hall as part of the core team focused on transforming Illinois's children’s mental health system.

Previously, she was a legislative analyst for the Virginia Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission, where she supported a number of projects, including conducting some of the key analyses related to marijuana legalization and the 2021 review of Virginia’s juvenile justice system transformation. Her research interests include the intersection of the criminal justice and behavioral health systems, juvenile justice, prevention programs, service access, equitable and inclusive policy design, and system transformation.
