Connect with our advising staff for one-on-one consultations about programs requirements, careers and more.
The Undergraduate Advising Office serves to support all Wilder School students through effective, proactive advising practices and support services. Advisors assist with academic and career planning, appeal support services and general university navigation needs.
General course advising: You’ll meet with graduate students who are trained to carefully track all degree requirements. They also process graduation applications, student academic progress appeals for financial aid, and academic appeals issues.
Career advising: You’ll meet with your undergraduate program chair, who can advise you about jobs in your field of study, career paths and graduate school. Program chairs also evaluate transfer credits that apply to their program. The Office of Student Success Programming also offers career advising services.
Students should request advising appointments through the myVCU portal. Each advisor’s availability will be listed in the online portal. If you have issues accessing the portal or need assistance, please call (804)827-0790 or email wsadvisor@vcu.edu
