Faculty and staff to offer campus solutions
Five teams comprised of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) faculty and administrators will offer solutions to challenges within the university community on Thursday, Oct. 6.
Proposals were developed in alignment with the university’s Quest for Distinction by 34 members of the VCU Leadership Development Program Class of 2016. An intensive 10-month experience, the VCU Leadership Development Program prepares a cross section of talent within the university for management roles at VCU and beyond. The program is one of several capacity building initiatives offered through the Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute, housed within the Wilder School’s Center for Public Policy.
Team projects represent the culmination of the 2016 program and will be presented during a showcase held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University Student Commons, Richmond Salons.
Project presentations will explore a range of opportunities within the campus community including the creation of scalable food insecurity interventions for students; the use of mobile technology in promoting employee wellness; support services for adjunct faculty; a signature, university-wide speaker series to promote civic engagement; and a comprehensive financial wellness program for students in the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry.
