Wilder School to Host Welcome Week Events
The L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs will host two events for current and incoming students during VCU’s Welcome Week. The events, which will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 24, are designed to help you learn more about our academic and internship programs and prepare for the term ahead. Major Keys to Success Wilder School Student Panel

Join current Criminal Justice, Homeland Security and Urban and Regional Studies students as they share how the Wider School’s challenging and rewarding academic and experiential programs can help you achieve your educational and career goals. Unlock the major keys to success from upperclassmen, all while enjoying free snacks and prizes!
Wilder School Open House and Movie Night
Date: Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016
Pre-Reception: 6-7 p.m., University Student Commons, James River Terrace
Screening & post-discussion: University Student Commons, Commons Theater
Connect with other students at a pre-reception from 6-7 p.m. in the James River Terrace followed by a screening of Spike Lee’s powerful portrait of racial tension, “Do the Right Thing,” in the Commons Theater from 7-10 p.m. The viewing will be followed by an open discussion designed to explore the continuing relevance of the film in light of recent events.
