Albanese participates in U.N. Anti-Corruption Symposium

Wilder School professor Jay Albanese, PhD., recently participated in the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) "Anti-Corruption Academic Symposium," organized by UNODC in cooperation with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

“It was terrific to interact with so many internationals, all of whom are working on anti-corruption teaching and research endeavors around the world,” said Albanese.

“It was a privilege to represent the Wilder School in this forum.”

The Anti-Corruption Academic Symposium was held November 21-22 in Moscow and brought together academics and experts to exchange knowledge and experience in the areas of anti-corruption education and research with simultaneous translation in English and Russian. The event was designed to strengthen cooperation between the U.N., educators and academia in the areas of anti-corruption, integrity and ethics, and the rule of law.

Overall, 40 participants from 25 countries gathered to attend the event. Among those, Albanese was the sole representative from the United States. He has previously worked with the U.N. in developing some of its rule of law materials in its Education for Justice (E4J) program.
