‘Evicted,’ which revealed impact of national eviction crisis, selected as VCU’s Common Book
“Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City,” by Matthew Desmond has been selected as the 2019 Common Book for Virginia Commonwealth University. The book, which revolves around eight families—each teetering on the brink of homelessness--dovetails closely with the work of the Wilder School’s RVA Eviction Lab, a key partner in this year's Common Book program.

Wilder School professor Jay Albanese was quoted in a USA Today article about the victims of human trafficking and prostitution in the U.S. In the article, Albanese, a leading expert on transnational and organized crime and corruption, describes human trafficking “one of the most serious of all crimes.”

Virginians Narrowly Support Public Investment to Land Amazon HQ2
